Lovely Charlie is looking for a new home as his current adopters wish to rehome him due to his high energy level that they are struggling to cope with.

Charlie is a very active collie-type dog who is excitable and loves doing zoomies. He loves other dogs and wants to play so he needs an active adopter who enjoys the outdoors and long walks to expend Charlie’s energy.

Charlie loves running, especially on the beach, when he plays chase with other dogs. He likes to keep his owners within sight, but will not return to them until he feels he has done enough running! Further recall training is definitely required! Attempts to reattach his lead are seen as part of the game.

When Charlie is excited, it often takes him quite some time to calm down. This can occur after he has been running in the garden or meeting other dogs when out walking, but particularly when people come to the house. On these occasions he will run around frantically and jump up at them.  He is boisterous, which can seem intimidating, but is not at all malicious.

Basically, Charlie needs an experienced adopter who is prepared to give him proper training through positive reinforcement - the team and our behaviourist Wendy will also be on hand to give guidance.

Charlie is booked in with the vet to be neutered in early July.

Charlie is confident getting in and out of a car and well-behaved once inside. However, he absolutely detests being in a crate.

Charlie likes snacking. He is ambivalent about dog treats, but likes rich tea biscuits, toast and especially cheese.
